I’m in the throes of a love affair. That is, a love affair with my own business. I have a real vision for this business and I know who my target customers are – they are female, aged between 21 – 45. They probably live in a city in the UK, they either work in a creative industry or they are creative themselves, they earn a salary but do not have money to burn, making each shoe purchase an important one – but they like fashion and are prepared to pay a little toward it. Crucially, they have size 9 and above feet. Obviously there are potential customers out there that do not fit all of those categories, apart from having larger feet. But what I need to do is find those women. I know they are out there – I am not the only one who feels this way about the shoe choice for our sizes. I’ve read countless forums where women rage against the unjustness of this world which struggles to cater for anyone who isn’t ‘average’. If you’re out there, raise your hand! Give me a shout, let me know I’m on the right track. In the meantime, I’m going to loose sleep and not eat and desperately check my emails, in the hope that my love affair comes to some kind of fruition.
